6 Hours of São Paulo: Porsche Leads in Second Free Practice

São Paulo, Brazil – Porsche Penske Motorsport’s #6 963 secured the fastest time in the second Free Practice session of the 6 Hours of São Paulo, recording a best lap of 1:23.508. This performance marks a substantial improvement from the morning’s session, where Laurens Vanthoor led with a 1:25.1.

Co-driver Kevin Estre’s time was closely followed by the sister #5 Porsche, driven by Julian Andlauer, who clocked in at 1:23.612. BMW Team WRT’s #15 M Hybrid V8, piloted by Kevin Magnussen, finished just milliseconds behind at 1:23.618.

The #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA and #007 Aston Martin THOR Team Valkyrie rounded out the top five, with Harry Tincknell achieving a commendable 1:24.006 for Aston Martin.

In the LMGT3 category, Eduardo Barrichello of Racing Spirit of Leman set the quickest time at 1:34.493, edging ahead of the #78 AKKODIS ASP Lexus. The #87 Lexus, which topped FP1, settled in third. The session saw a solitary incident involving Iron Lynx’s Andrew Gilbert, who crashed the #61 Mercedes-AMG at Turn 4, but he managed to return to the pits under his own power, with the car remaining in the garage for the remainder of the session.
