Price and Macleod Set to Return in 2026 British GT Championship
Mike Price and Callum Macleod will return to the British GT Championship for the 2026 season, competing with Optimum Motorsport in the #3 McLaren GT3 Evo. Their participation will commence after missing the opening rounds at Silverstone and Oulton Park due to commitments in the PalmaVela Regatta, a prestigious multi-class yacht race.
The partnership announced that they would skip the Silverstone 500, scheduled for April 25-26, and the Oulton Park sprint races from May 23-25, as the yacht competition overlaps. However, they will join the championship again starting with the endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps on June 20-21.
Macleod expressed enthusiasm for the season, stating, “I’m excited about our second season with Optimum Motorsport. We showed great pace last year, and consistency will be key for points finishes.” He acknowledged Price’s development: “Mike has adapted impressively to the mid-engined McLaren from the front-engined Mercedes.”
Price reflected on their past partnership, highlighting the transition from Greystone GT’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to the McLaren package. “There was a lot to learn last year, but I felt comfortable by the end,” he stated. He also underscored the value of Macleod’s coaching: “Callum’s support has been pivotal, and I’m excited to see what our combined experience can achieve this year.”
The duo previously teamed up in the 2021 GT Cup and raced together in the British GT during 2023 and 2024. Their return signals a more seasoned campaign as they aim for a strong finish in the remaining races of the season.
