Spencer Pumpelly Rejoins Heart of Racing for Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

Long Beach, CA – The Heart of Racing Team has confirmed that veteran sports car driver Spencer Pumpelly will return to pilot the #27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Pumpelly steps in for Aston Martin factory driver Tom Gamble, who will compete in the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Imola on the same weekend.

Pumpelly’s previous experience with Heart of Racing includes three entries in 2024, where he secured a GTD class victory at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park alongside Roman de Angelis and placed sixth at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Earlier this season, he achieved a runner-up finish at the Rolex 24 At Daytona with Magnus Racing and finished tenth in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

“I’ve had success with this team in the past, and I’m looking forward to another good run,” said Pumpelly. “The atmosphere at Long Beach is always amazing, and I’m excited to team up with Dudu again.”

Co-driver Eduardo ‘Dudu’ Barrichello will miss the opening round of his 2026 WEC campaign to compete at Long Beach; Heart of Racing will announce a replacement driver later.

As the event approaches, the racing community anticipates a strong showing from the experienced pair in the competitive GTD class.
