Three Generations of the Quinn Family Set for 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour

Bathurst, Australia – In a historic first, the Quinn family will unite across three generations for the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, scheduled for February 13-15. Tony Quinn will pilot the Melbourne Performance Centre-prepared Audi R8 LMS GT3 alongside his sons, Kent and Klark, and grandson, Ryder.

This unprecedented line-up represents a significant milestone in Australian motorsport history, showcasing a familial bond at one of the world’s most challenging racing circuits. The Melbourne Performance Centre, a formidable contender in Australian motorsport, has proven its mettle by securing third place in the 2024 edition of the Bathurst 12 Hour and clinching the Pro-Am title in 2023.

The event has seen familial partnerships thrive, with teams such as Sam and Yasser Shahin in a Porsche 911 GT3 R, and James and Theo Koundouris in a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, participating in recent years.

Tony and Klark Quinn bring veteran experience, having participated in multiple Bathurst races since their debut in 2008, where they notably finished as runners-up. Kent and Ryder, however, will make their 12 Hour debuts, having previously raced at Mount Panorama.

Reflecting on the upcoming event, Tony Quinn stated, “I always had this dream… to drive at an endurance event with my son and grandson.” He emphasized the importance of this experience, suggesting that their approach is less about competition and more focused on enjoying the event together.

“We want to start, survive, and finish,” Quinn clarified. “We’re not racing against anyone; we just want to enjoy our time on the track.” He also shared insights into their race livery, noting it will feature a purple design—his favorite color—marked simply with a white “Q.”

The Quinns remain realistic about their prospects, acknowledging the evolution of the race’s competitiveness since their last participation. Nonetheless, the family’s commitment to camaraderie over competition highlights the spirit of endurance racing.

As the race day approaches, the Quinn family looks poised to create lasting memories amid the high-stakes atmosphere of Bathurst.
