Hadrien David Secures Pole Position at Michelin Le Mans Cup Season Finale
Portimão, Portugal – Hadrien David clinched his third consecutive pole position in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, setting a standout time of 1:38.160 in the #85 R-ace GP Duqueine D09 – Toyota ahead of tomorrow’s season finale. This performance ensures David and teammate Hugo Schwarze, who have already secured the 2025 title, will start the race at the front of the LMP3 field.
David’s time was initially over a second ahead of the competition but was later challenged by Oscar Tunjo from Gebhardt Motorsport, who qualified second with a time of 1:38.569, narrowing the gap to just 0.409 seconds. Mattéo Quintarelli, driving the #50 23Events Racing Ligier JS P325, took third place with a lap of 1:38.755, achieving this time following a mid-session Red Flag caused by a spin from CD Sport’s Thomas Imbourg.
Additional positions in the top five were secured by Pierre-Alexandre Provost (fourth, #87 CLX Motorsport Ligier) and further entries from Team Virage and Reiter Engineering. Notably, Henry Cubides Olarte achieved the Adess AD25’s best qualifying result of the season in 11th position.
In the LMP3 Pro/Am category, Terrence Woodward clinched pole with a time of 1:40.429, edging out Julien Lemoine by 0.147 seconds. Championship leader Stefan Aust qualified third, while crucial competitors Motorsport98 and Rinaldi Racing faced challenges, qualifying 12th and 14th, respectively.
In GT3, Alexander Martin dominated with the #91 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, registering a best time of 1:44.555. Martin’s performance placed him ahead of Pascal Huteau, who made a strong showing in his series debut with the #11 Code Racing Development Aston Martin. Current championship leader Alessandro Cozzi qualified fourth in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3.
The final race of the 2025 Le Mans Cup season is scheduled for 09:30 local time tomorrow.
