Bathurst 12 Hour: Practice 2 Results
The second practice session for the Bathurst 12 Hour concluded smoothly, featuring a 40-minute run exclusively for Bronze drivers, with select Silver-rated participants. A total of 21 cars took to the track, showcasing a blend of Pro-Am, Bronze, GT4, and Invitational categories.
Session Highlights:
- Fastest Lap: Brett Hobson in the #45 RAM Motorsport/GWR Australia Mercedes AMG recorded the fastest time of the session at 2:05.3176.
- Close Competitors: Maxime Oosten in the #89 Team KRC BMW finished just 0.02 seconds behind Hobson, while Brad Schumacher in the #55 Jamec Racing Audi followed closely at 2:05.35, finishing 0.03 seconds off the pace.
- Top Five: The #27 Heart of Racing by SPS Mercedes and #75 75 Express Mercedes completed the top five. Lorenzo Patrese’s #193 Ziggo Sport Tempesta by ARGT Ferrari secured sixth place, entering the 2:05 bracket.
Class Leaders:
- The leading car in the Invitational class was the #111 111 Racing IRC GT driven by Darren Currie, with a time of 2:08.93.
- In GT4, the #42 Method Motorsport McLaren came out on top, with Adrian Kunzle narrowly ahead of the #7 Team NZ Aston Martin by four tenths of a second.
Upcoming sessions include Practice 3 scheduled for 13:10 AEDT and an additional Bronze-only session at 15:40 AEDT.
