GT Open Race 1 Summary – Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya

On a sweltering Saturday afternoon, Levente Révész took the top step in Race 1 of the GT Open at Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, marking his fourth victory this season and extending his championship lead to six points. Partnered with Maxi Götz, Révész secured the win in the Motopark Mercedes, finishing ahead of Simon Reicher and Christopher Haase in the Eastalent Racing Audi.

Attila Zsigo and Dennis Waszek celebrated a significant win in the Am class with their Racing Trevor BMW, creating a tie at the top of the standings with Gino Forgione and Michele Rugolo from AF Corse Ferrari.

Josh Rattican, in his second outing with Greystone GT, secured pole position and led initially before an eventful first lap included several incidents requiring a safety car. Rattican maintained a marginal advantage until the pit window, with tight competition amongst the leaders.

Post-pit stops, Révész took the lead and did not relinquish it, ultimately finishing ahead of Haase who worked his way up from fourth to secure second place, while Bartone fell to fourth after losing P3 on the final lap.

The race also witnessed multiple incidents, including a collision involving Salaquarda and Simonazzi, leading to a spin for Simonazzi, and a post-race penalty for Stanley after contact with Babini.
