Rutronik Racing Enters 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Season with Strong Lamborghini Lineup
Rutronik Racing has officially announced its participation in the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe, fielding a competitive lineup of three Lamborghini factory drivers. The team, transitioning from Porsche to Lamborghini, will feature drivers Patric Niederhauser, Luca Engstler, and Marco Mapelli, showcasing their commitment to building a formidable presence in the series with the new Temerario GT3.
Niederhauser and Engstler will compete across all ten events, while Mapelli joins for the five Endurance Cup races. This season marks a continuation of Niederhauser’s long-standing relationship with Rutronik Racing, having secured the ADAC GT Masters title in 2019 and played a crucial role in winning the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in 2025.
“The switch from Porsche to Lamborghini presents new challenges for us, but we are well-prepared to tackle them,” Niederhauser stated. “We have a strong driver lineup, and I’m eager to see how we can perform together.”
Engstler returns to Rutronik Racing after a successful stint in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters, where he notably clinched victory at the 24 Hours of Spa as part of Grasser Racing’s roster, beating Rutronik Racing by mere seconds. “I’m excited to reconnect with Rutronik. The team laid the foundation for my GT3 career, and I believe we can build on our past successes,” Engstler remarked.
Mapelli, a seasoned competitor and GT World Challenge Europe champion from 2019, emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving peak performance. “Joining the reigning championship team is inspirational, and I look forward to working with Patric and Luca to develop the Lamborghini further,” he said.
With a focus on technical development and collective ambition, Rutronik Racing aims for strong results in the upcoming season as it adapts to its new machinery. The team reflects confidence in its strategic direction and the abilities of its drivers as it prepares for the challenges ahead.
