SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm Shifts Focus to SRO Competition Ahead of 2026 Season
SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm, a prominent contender in ADAC GT4 Germany, has announced a strategic pivot toward SRO events beginning in 2026. This shift comes despite the team’s previous intent to field up to two Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVOs in the ADAC GT Masters, alongside its successful GT4 program.
In the 2025 season, SR Motorsport achieved significant success, clinching four championship titles: Enrico Förderer and Jay Mo Härtling dominated the Drivers’, Junior, and ‘Road to DTM’ classifications, while Cedric Fuchs won the Rookie award. However, team principal Thomas Angerer cited dissatisfaction with the “Road to DTM” ladder as a driving factor behind the team’s transition.
“Despite our successes in Germany, we have not been able to make the leap into professional motorsport,” Angerer stated. “When young drivers finish championships with titles and still do not advance, we have no choice but to seek opportunities on the international stage.”
The team will now focus on the GT World Challenge Europe and GT4 European Series, with the first races slated for Circuit Paul Ricard from April 10-12, 2026. Further details on SR Motorsport’s commitments to these championships will be released in the coming weeks.
This change marks a new chapter for the team as it aims to launch its young talent onto a broader international platform.
