SRO Motorsports Group Celebrates Excellence at Annual Awards in Venice

The SRO Motorsports Group held its annual awards ceremony in Venice, Italy, last weekend, recognizing outstanding achievements across its global racing platforms, including the GT World Challenge Europe and Asia, the Intercontinental GT Challenge, and the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa.

Kiern Jewiss, the reigning British GT champion, received the Allan Simonsen Award, honoring a driver who exemplifies speed and spirit. Jewiss triumphed alongside teammate Charles Dawson for 2 Seas Motorsport in his rookie season. “To stand here as British GT champion and Allan Simonsen Award winner is surreal,” he stated, acknowledging the legacy of past winners.

Ajith Kumar was awarded the Philippe Charriol Award, recognizing his remarkable performance as an amateur driver in the GT4 European Series. Kumar’s participation significantly amplified the series’ visibility, engaging his extensive fanbase.

Nineteen-year-old Gaspard Simon secured the inaugural SRO GT Academy award, resulting in funding for a GT World Challenge Europe campaign next season due to his performance in the FFSA French GT Championship.

The newly introduced GT World Challenge Promoters Award was presented to Zou Sirui for the successful Beijing round of GT World Challenge Asia, which attracted over 30,000 attendees, marking the highest turnout in the series’ history.

An awards ceremony for SRO’s American and Australian series is scheduled for later this year, leading up to the 2026 season debut at February’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
