Autobacs SUPER GT Series Reveals 2026 Event Formats

In a significant update, the Autobacs SUPER GT Series has disclosed its event formats for the 2026 season, following the recent announcement of revised sporting regulations. The most notable change involves the Fuji Speedway, which will revert to a 300-kilometer feature race on August 1-2, replacing the previously planned double-header sprint format. This adjustment comes after the Fuji GT Sprint Race underperformed in attracting spectators, despite a solid attendance.

The remaining rounds will continue with their established formats. The season will kick off at Okayama International Circuit on April 11-12, with subsequent races at Petronas Sepang International Circuit (June 20-21), Suzuka Circuit (August 22-23), Sportsland Sugo (September 19-20), and Mobility Resort Motegi (November 7-8), all set as standard 300-kilometer events.

The series will maintain two long-distance races: the traditional Golden Week race at Fuji Speedway (May 3-4) and the penultimate round at Autopolis International Racing Course (October 17-18), each lasting three hours.

This streamlined format aims to enhance viewer engagement and bolster attendance as the series progresses through the 2026 season.
