TF Sport Clinches Double Title at ELMS Finale in Portimão
Portimão, Portugal — TF Sport celebrated a remarkable double championship victory at the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) finale, securing titles in both LMP2 Pro/Am and LMGT3 on Saturday. This achievement marks a significant milestone, representing consecutive titles for AO by TF in LMP2 and the inaugural ELMS championship for Corvette with the Z06 GT3.R.
In the LMP2 Pro/Am class, drivers PJ Hyett, Dane Cameron, and Louis Deletraz clinched the championship with a second-place finish during the race. The team’s consistency was highlighted by Hyett’s earlier victories, including a prestigious win at Le Mans, a pivotal moment that set the stage for their strong season performances.
Cameron reflected on Hyett’s progression: “Once he got that first win, it would keep coming… He has room to grow, too, with this AO programme.” Deletraz now holds an impressive four ELMS titles in five years, while Cameron achieved his goal of winning a European championship.
On the Corvette side, TF Sport secured a historic win under intense pressure. Factory driver Charlie Eastwood successfully defended the lead against a fierce challenge from Wayne Boyd in the United Autosports McLaren during the final hour of the race. “It was a very stressful stint… I had to stay in front,” Eastwood remarked, acknowledging the close competition and demanding conditions.
TF Sport team principal Tom Ferrier expressed satisfaction with the accomplishments, emphasizing the importance of their partnerships with AO Racing and Corvette. “With AO, it’s been a pleasure working with them again, and we definitely plan to be back and defend the title in 2026,” he stated.
This victory not only secures a fourth-place grid position for Corvette at Le Mans but also showcases the Z06 GT3.R’s versatility as a competitive platform for both factory and privateer teams. As the team celebrates their success at the ELMS awards night, focus will soon shift to the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship finale in Bahrain, where they remain competitive in the championship race.
The combination of strategic perseverance and technical excellence has defined TF Sport’s season, setting a precedent for future endeavors in both the ELMS and WEC.
