Darren Turner Returns to British GT with Full Send Racing
Aston Martin Racing’s veteran driver, Darren Turner, is set to return to the British GT Championship in 2026, joining the newly established Full Send Racing (FSR) team. This marks Turner’s first participation in the series since 2022 and will kick off his 22nd year with Aston Martin. He will compete alongside FSR team director Daniel Lavery in one of two Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evos.
Turner, a three-time class winner at the Le Mans 24 Hours, expressed his enthusiasm for the venture: “It’s always great to be involved in a project from the very beginning. The aim is to fight for the overall GT4 championship, and I genuinely believe that’s achievable with FSR.” He acknowledged the competitive nature of British GT, but noted promising results from recent testing.
Lavery, who brings experience from a national one-make BMW series and Ginetta G55 GT4 outings, emphasized the rapid evolution of FSR from a casual project to a serious racing team. “Having Darren with us is a real honour,” he stated, underscoring the team’s ambition to measure their performance against established competitors.
Elliott Cole, FSR’s team principal and a former British GT competitor, praised the team’s commitment and his longstanding relationship with Lavery, whom he has coached since the latter began racing. “I can’t wait to get started at the Media Day in March (31),” Cole remarked.
The team is also slated to announce its second driver lineup soon, following other confirmed GT4 entries like GBR Stratton Motorsport. The 2026 British GT season promises high-stakes competition as FSR prepares to tackle the challenges ahead.
