United Autosports USA to Compete in 2026 IMSA WeatherTech Championship
United Autosports USA will return to the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, fielding two ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2 entries. Daniel Goldburg officially continues with the #22 ORECA for his third season, while Phil Fayer makes his full-time LMP2 debut in the #2 ORECA.
Daniel Goldburg, who serves as President of construction contractor CSCI, has marked his presence in LMP2 since debuting in 2023. This year, he has excelled with a win at both the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, securing second place at the Chevrolet Grand Prix. Goldburg currently ranks second in the LMP2 Drivers’ Championship as the season approaches its finale.
“It’s my third season already? Wow,” Goldburg commented. “These first two seasons have been the best experience of my racing career. I can’t thank Richard [Dean] and the whole United Autosports organization enough. I want to keep the momentum going so I’m very pleased to announce my third season with the team.”
Phil Fayer, founder and CEO of fintech firm Nuvei, will take on the role of full-time Bronze driver for the #2 car after previously debuting at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), where he secured fourth-place finishes at CTMP and Road America.
“I’m thrilled to be joining United Autosports USA for the full IMSA season in 2026,” said Fayer. “IMSA is such a fun and competitive series. I’m looking forward to developing as a driver and contributing to the team’s success.”
Richard Dean, CEO of United Autosports, expressed enthusiasm for the team’s upcoming season. “It is fantastic news that United Autosports USA will be on the IMSA grid in 2026. Daniel Goldburg is a deserved IMSA and Daytona race winner, and we believe Phil Fayer has huge potential for the 2026 season.”
Further driver announcements are expected in the lead-up to the season.
Tower Motorsports Set for 2026 Return
Tower Motorsports, the 2022 LMP2 Champion team, also confirmed its entry for the 2026 season, with John Farano announced as the first driver in the #8 ORECA. The team faced challenges this year when they were disqualified from the Rolex 24 At Daytona for a skid block wear violation but rebounded with a second-place finish at the Twelve Hours of Sebring.
These announcements add to the emerging lineup involving the new alliance between Bryan Herta Autosport and PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports, as well as the revival of Intersport Racing, led by Jon Field.
