VSR to Race Lamborghini’s New Temerario GT3 in 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup
Lamborghini’s long-time partner VSR has been confirmed as a customer team for the brand’s new Temerario GT3, targeting the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. VSR will enter the #163 car in the Gold Cup class, driven by Lamborghini factory drivers Loris Spinelli and Mattia Michelotto.
Spinelli, who has transitioned from the Bronze Cup with Imperiale Racing last year, brings experience from the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Italian GT Championship to the team. Meanwhile, Michelotto’s promotion to Lamborghini’s works roster follows a successful tenure with VSR, where he secured the Pro-Am title in the Italian GT Championship last season.
This marks VSR’s return to the Sprint Cup following a hiatus since 2023, during which the team last fielded two Huracán GT3 Evo2 entries. After stepping back from SRO competition in 2024, VSR resumed involvement in the Endurance Cup in 2025 with a two-car effort.
With VSR joining Rutronik Racing as a confirmed customer for the limited rollout of the Temerario GT3, a third team, expected to be 2025 Spa 24 Hours winners Grasser Racing, will be announced later.
VSR team principal Vincenzo Sospiri expressed pride in continuing the partnership with Lamborghini, stating, “It will be a steep learning curve for everyone involved, but we have two very competitive drivers and the invaluable support of Lamborghini Squadra Corse alongside us for this new adventure.”
The 2026 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup kicks off at Brands Hatch on May 2-3, 2026.
