Walkenhorst Motorsport Prepares for 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring with Strong Line-Up
Nürburgring, Germany – Walkenhorst Motorsport has officially announced its preparations for the 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring, fielding two Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evos in a bid for competitive performance.
In the SP9 Pro class, the #34 entry will feature a seasoned trio of factory drivers: Nicki Thiim, Mattia Drudi, and Christian Krognes. This team previously competed together in the same car last year, where mechanical issues led to an early retirement on the final day of racing.
In addition to the 24-hour race scheduled for May 14-17, the #34 will also participate in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season opener and qualifying weekend. The second entry, the #35 Aston Martin, will compete in the SP9 Pro/Am category, driven by Denis Fetzer, Mateo Villagomez, and 2023 overall winner Felipe Fernandez Laser.
Fetzer returns to Walkenhorst after a four-year hiatus, having secured success in the SP9 Pro-Am class with HRT Ford Performance last year. Villagomez, fresh from competition in the GT World Challenge Europe, will make his debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Laser, who last raced for Walkenhorst in the 2015 24-hour event, brings valuable experience from his stint with Realize Kondo Racing.
The #35 entry is set for a full NLS campaign, excluding NLS3 due to scheduling conflicts with the GT World Challenge Europe opener. Krognes will fill in for Laser for subsequent races after the 24-hour event.
“We are proud of our line-up for this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring,” stated team boss Jörg Breuer. “With Christian, Mattia, and Nicki, we have three very fast drivers in our Pro line-up who proved their potential last year. Our Pro-Am trio also consists of strong competitors, so we are confident in our chances.”
In addition to the Aston Martins, Walkenhorst Motorsport will enter select races this season with a BMW M2 Racing and a Hyundai i30N, the latter as part of its permit program.
For motorsport aficionados, the 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring promises to be a thrilling contest, showcasing top-tier engineering and driving talent at one of the sport’s most challenging venues.
