Joe Wheeler Completes Fox Motorsport’s 2026 British GT Line-Up
February 2026 – Joe Wheeler has officially joined Fox Motorsport’s driver line-up for the 2026 British GT Championship season, partnering with James Townsend in the #40 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo. The team, returning to the championship, unveiled a striking dark crimson and pink livery alongside Wheeler’s announcement.
Wheeler, now entering his fourth season in British GT, has secured five podium finishes in the GT4 Pro-Am class since his debut in 2022. He expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “I can’t wait for the season to start with Townsend Racing powered by Fox Motorsport. I know James well from our previous time in British GT, and with Fox being a proven race-winning team in both GT4 and GT3, I don’t think we could be in a stronger position.”
Team principal Paul McNeilly emphasized the advantage of Wheeler and Townsend’s prior collaboration, noting, “It’s fantastic to welcome Joe to Townsend Racing powered by Fox Motorsport for the 2026 season. We’ll use the pre-season to acclimate both drivers to the Aston Martin, positioning us strongly for the season ahead.”
Fox Motorsport will showcase their new livery during test sessions on February 26 at Silverstone. The team is set to return for Media Day testing on March 31, followed by the season opener, the Silverstone 500, on April 25-26, marking the start of the 34th British GT season with a three-hour endurance race.
