WRT Reveals Ambitious Plans for 24 Hours of Spa

Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – BMW partner team WRT unveiled an expanded lineup for the upcoming 24 Hours of Spa during the grand opening of its new headquarters. The renowned Belgian outfit will enter five BMW M4 GT3 EVOs, including two additional entries for the Pro class, complementing their previously confirmed trio across the Pro, Gold, and Silver Cup categories.

WRT aims for its third overall victory in the prestigious event, the first with BMW, having previously secured triumphs driving Audi cars. The driver lineup will feature notable names: car #46 will be piloted by MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi, Kevin Magnussen, and René Rast, while car #31 will see Marco Wittmann, Sheldon van der Linde, and Dries Vanthoor take the wheel.

Rossi expressed enthusiasm for the challenge ahead, stating, "I am very happy to be back at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps… The level of competition is extremely high, and I can’t wait to race together with my great teammates."

Magnussen added, "I am really looking forward to competing with BMW M Motorsport and Team WRT… It will be a pleasure to compete together at the 24h Spa-Francorchamps."

The team’s additional entries include car #30 with Gustav Bergström, Etienne Cheli, and Gilles Stadsbader in the Silver Cup, and Ugo de Wilde, Kelvin van der Linde, and Charles Weerts in car #32 (Pro). The AlManar Racing-branded car #777 will feature Al Faisal Al Zubair, Jens Klingmann, and Ben Tuck in the Gold Cup.

ROWE Racing Enhances BMW’s Pro Lineup

In total, BMW will be represented by 11 cars at Spa, including five in the Pro class. ROWE Racing adds two BMW M4 GT3 EVOs to the mix, with the #98 crewed by regulars Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, and Raffaele Marciello, while the #998 will include BMW works drivers Philipp Eng, Dan Harper, and Max Hesse.

Philipp Eng noted, “I am very excited to compete once more at Spa-Francorchamps… sharing the car with Dan and Max, who I’ve mentored in the past, is fantastic.”

As the teams prepare for this iconic endurance race, the focus sharpens on securing glory amidst a fiercely competitive field. The 24 Hours of Spa promises to be a highlight in the GT World Challenge Europe calendar.
