Motul SportsCar Grand Prix Qualifying Report

Elkhart Lake, WI – The #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06, driven by Nick Yelloly, secured pole position for the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America, marking the team’s third consecutive pole in the GTP category. Yelloly’s fastest lap was clocked at 1:48.628, edging out BMW M Team RLL’s Sheldon van der Linde, who qualified second with a time of 1:48.681, and teammate Dries Vanthoor in third at 1:48.683. The top four drivers were separated by a mere eight hundredths of a second.

GTP points leader Matt Campbell qualified fifth in the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963, while Jack Aitken took sixth in the #31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R.

In LMP2 qualifying, PJ Hyett continued his strong performance by claiming his third consecutive pole in the #99 ORECA 07-Gibson with a best time of 1:53.240. George Kurtz followed in the #04 Crowdstrike by APR ORECA, while Daniel Goldburg, despite having a lap deleted for a red flag incident, placed third. Tõnis Kasemets surprised many by qualifying fourth in his debut race with Team Tonis.

DragonSpeed’s Giacomo Altoe clinched the GTD PRO pole, driving the #81 Ferrari 296 GT3 to a time of 2:03.904, narrowly beating the #3 and #4 Corvette Racing entries, driven by Alexander Sims and Tommy Milner, respectively. The top three were separated by just two hundredths of a second, with the #48 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO and the #1 Lamborghini of Madison Snow rounding out the top five.

In the GTD category, Russell Ward claimed pole for Winward Racing, setting an impressive lap of 2:03.745 in the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Casper Stevenson qualified second in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin, followed by Onofrio Triarsi in third, Robert Wickens fourth in the #36 DXDT Racing Corvette, and Parker Thompson completing the top five in the #12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus.

The Motul SportsCar Grand Prix is scheduled to commence at 1:10 PM CT, with live coverage available across multiple platforms including the IMSA YouTube channel.
