Inter Europol Competition Leads ELMS Free Practice 2 at Silverstone
In a compelling session for the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Silverstone, Inter Europol Competition’s #43 ORECA emerged at the top, with Nick Yelloly clocking a blistering 1:43.381—fastest so far in the event. The team aims for its first win of the season following three consecutive third-place finishes and currently leads the championship standings.
However, the session was marred by an early incident involving TDS Racing’s Rodrigo Sales, who crashed into the wall during his outlap. The Brazilian driver was unharmed and exited the wrecked #29 ORECA, which sustained significant damage requiring extensive repairs ahead of the race.
United Autosports’ #22 ORECA trailed closely with Ben Hanley posting a 1:43.825, securing second place. Algarve Pro Racing’s #25 ORECA finished third, while Iron Lynx Proton and Duqueine rounded out the top five.
In the LMP2 Pro/Am category, AO By TF’s #99 car, piloted by Dane Cameron and Louis Deletraz, set the fastest time at 1:45.158, placing 12th overall. Notably, this time surpassed the season-leading VDS Panis Racing entry, which had previously shown strong performance in practice sessions.
In LMP3, Eurointernational’s #11 Ligier JS P325, driven by Ian Aguilera, led with a 1:54.617, edging out the #12 WTM by Rinaldi Duqueine. Meanwhile, in the LMGT3 category, Charlie Eastwood’s TF Sport Corvette clocked a time of 1:59.581, positioning himself at the front of a tightly contested field.
Qualifying is scheduled for 14:20 local time, available for viewing on the ELMS YouTube channel. The anticipation builds as teams prepare to secure their starting positions for the race.
