Ziggo Sport Tempesta Shifts to Porsche for 2026 GT World Challenge Europe
Ziggo Sport Tempesta has announced a strategic manufacturer change for its 2026 GT World Challenge Europe campaign, opting for the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo as it aims to reclaim the Bronze Cup title and secure a spot in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The British team, which has a history of competitive performances since joining the GT World Challenge in 2019, will partner with Herberth Motorsport for technical support. The lineup for the #93 Porsche features Eddie Cheever III for the full season, joined by Chris Froggatt for the Endurance Cup. Jonathan Hui will drive at the 24 Hours of Spa and the preceding Monza Endurance Cup event. The Bronze-rated driver for the Sprint Cup and remaining Endurance rounds has yet to be confirmed.
Cheever, Froggatt, and Hui have already established themselves as the core driving unit, securing consecutive Endurance Cup Bronze titles in 2023 and 2024. Their goal for 2026 is clear: to be the preeminent Bronze entry throughout the season, aiming for an automatic invitation to the 2027 Le Mans.
This marks the fourth different manufacturer the team has competed with over the past five years, following stints with Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, and Ferrari. Notably, Froggatt, Hui, and Tempesta achieved overall victory at last year’s 12 Hours of Spa while partnering with Herberth Motorsport.
Froggatt expressed enthusiasm for the new season: “The new Porsche GT3 R Evo looks to be a competitive package. I am confident that this year should be strong for the team, with our established lineup at Monza and Spa, supported by competitive Bronze drivers for the endurance races.”
The 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season kicks off on April 10-11 at Circuit Paul Ricard, featuring a six-hour Endurance Cup event.
