Brad Pitt Reflects on F1 Film Experience Ahead of Final Shoot
As the film centered around Formula 1, starring Brad Pitt, approaches its release, the actor shared his emotional journey during filming. On the last day of shooting at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Pitt expressed uncertainty about his future endeavor, stating, "Tonight’s my last drive for the film. I may get a little misty about it… It’s been a hell of an experience."
In an interview with Will Buxton, Pitt conveyed the unique thrill of motorsport, commenting, "It’s like nothing else… I don’t know where I go from here. I gotta do something nice and quiet." He acknowledged the stark contrast between his high-speed driving scenes and acting, saying, “When we get to the acting scenes, you kind of go, ‘Oh okay, no driving today.’”
Regarding the possibility of continuing in motorsport after the film, he indicated interest, referencing other actors who have pursued racing. "You know, I thought about it. It’s an interesting daydream," he noted. He emphasized his respect for the dedication required in racing, mentioning colleagues like Patrick Dempsey and Michael Fassbender: "I understand why they love it."
Pitt also reaffirmed his plan to get back behind the wheel, saying, "I don’t have words for it… The smell, the sound… it’s the most singular thing I’ve ever been a part of.” He plays Sonny Hayes, a former driver who returns to aid the struggling APXGP team in reviving its fortunes.
The F1 movie is set for a global release on June 25, followed by its U.S. debut on June 27.
