Verstappen Welcomes Vettel’s Potential Advisory Role at Red Bull
Max Verstappen has expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of Sebastian Vettel joining Red Bull Racing in an advisory capacity. This comes in light of recent discussions between Vettel and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko regarding the latter’s eventual succession.
Vettel, a four-time F1 world champion like Verstappen, stated, “We’re in contact about this, though maybe not so intensively or in-depth yet.” He emphasized the importance of preserving Marko’s legacy while exploring collaboration opportunities.
Verstappen echoed this sentiment, noting, “It’s more than normal that someone who has achieved so much with Red Bull… there’s always a spot available.” He highlighted the strong relationship between Vettel and Marko, suggesting that Vettel’s involvement would be beneficial for the team’s continuity.
Marko, who has been integral to Red Bull since its inception in 2005, confirmed that the question of succession is being considered, stating, “The profile we need is very broad and very demanding.” With his contract ending in 2026, Marko’s plans remain uncertain as he approaches 84 years of age.
As the team prepares for the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, discussions regarding Vettel’s involvement represent a pivotal moment in Red Bull’s future leadership dynamics.
