Iowa Speedway IndyCar Event Update: Friday Canceled, Saturday and Sunday Races Set to Proceed
The IndyCar Series faced a disruption on Friday at Iowa Speedway as severe storms forced the cancellation of practice sessions, including the Indy NXT runs scheduled prior to the main event. The rain-soaked conditions did not deter the series from proceeding with its race schedule.
According to the official announcement from the series, the Synk 275 powered by Sukup is slated to take place on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the Farm to Finish 275 powered by Sukup on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Both events will be broadcast live on FOX, the FOX Sports app, and the IndyCar Radio Network.
The NTT IndyCar Series will commence activities on Saturday with installation laps at 9:55 a.m. ET, transitioning to a 30-minute high-line group running period. A comprehensive 45-minute regular practice session will follow, starting at 10:45 a.m. ET, with live coverage available on FS2.
Additionally, the 75-lap INDY NXT by Firestone race is scheduled for noon ET and will be aired on FS1. Qualifying for the NTT IndyCar Series is confirmed for 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1, with each driver receiving two timed laps to establish starting positions for the respective races.
This restructuring ensures both weekend races will continue as planned, maintaining the championship schedule despite Friday’s setbacks.
