Colton Herta to Race for Cadillac in 2026 IMSA Season
Daytona, FL – Colton Herta, currently a test driver for Cadillac in Formula 1, will compete for the American manufacturer in three endurance races during the 2026 IMSA SportsCar Championship. He will debut with Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) in the Daytona 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours, and the season-closing Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
Herta, who is also slated to race in Formula 2 with Hitech, will share the #40 Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh with full-season drivers Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz in the GTP class. This partnership renews a successful collaboration, as Herta previously secured a Sebring victory with Taylor and Deletraz while racing an Acura ARX-06 LMDh in 2024.
“I’m super excited to join Cadillac WTR for the endurance rounds next year,” Herta remarked. “We had some success last time I was with the team, and I hope to continue that. Jordan and Louis are some of the best drivers in the business, and it’s a pleasure to join them on this adventure.”
Wayne Taylor expressed optimism regarding the trio’s potential: “We are delighted that Colton can join Jordan and Louis. The trio has been a great match and had great success working together in 2024. Our team has so much positivity going into 2026.”
Herta’s signing coincides with Cadillac’s announcement of its full roster for the 2026 IMSA GTP campaign. The existing driver line-ups for both WTR entries and Action Express Racing remain intact. Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque will continue in the #10 WTR Cadillac, joined again by Will Stevens for the endurance events. Additionally, Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber will pilot the #31 Action Express V-Series.R, with Frederik Vesti serving as the third driver throughout the IMSA Endurance Cup.
This strategic alignment positions Cadillac strongly as they prepare for a highly competitive IMSA season.
