Olivier Boisson Joins Arrow McLaren as Head of Damper Engineering
Arrow McLaren Racing has announced the appointment of Olivier Boisson as its new Head of Damper Engineering. A seasoned race-winning engineer, Boisson reunites with team principal Tony Kanaan, enhancing a roster that has been undergoing considerable personnel changes under Kanaan and recently appointed Director of Competition, Kyle Moyer.
Boisson comes to Arrow McLaren after spending two seasons at Andretti Global, where he served as a race engineer for Marcus Ericsson. His departure from Andretti last summer was followed by the integration of Dave Seyffert into that role. At Arrow McLaren, Boisson’s expertise is expected to bolster a team that finished second in the 2025 IndyCar Series championship, trailing Chip Ganassi Racing, and aims to enhance its technical capabilities.
Kanaan highlighted Boisson’s contributions, stating, “He is very well known in the paddock as a great engineer, particularly as a damper expert. We knew we needed a guru, and Olivier is one of the most talented damper engineers out there.” Kanaan noted the importance of having experienced mentors to guide younger engineers within the department.
Along with Boisson, Arrow McLaren has also brought on Eric Cowdin as its Director of Engineering, indicating a strategic push to strengthen technical performance as the team seeks to close the competitive gap with leading teams in the series. Kanaan emphasizes the expectation for Boisson to raise standards and foster development among the team’s younger engineers, asserting his commitment to facilitating continuity and performance enhancement within the engineering department.
