Lamborghini Unveils Temerario Super Trofeo as Successor to Huracán
Lamborghini has launched the first renders of the Temerario Super Trofeo, set to debut in the Super Trofeo North America, Europe, and Asia series in 2027. This new one-make racing vehicle will replace the Huracán, which debuted in 2015 and has undergone two Evo upgrades in 2018 and 2022.
The Temerario Super Trofeo makes its racing debut following the upcoming Temerario GT3, scheduled to compete in the 2026 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. This strategic release underscores Lamborghini’s commitment to its racing lineage.
CEO Stephan Winkelmann noted, “In 2009, we made a bold decision to launch the Gallardo Super Trofeo. Our customers – over 1,300 drivers – have consistently asked for a product designed for the track.” He emphasized the importance of Super Trofeo in strengthening customer relations and confirmed that the Temerario will cater to the growing racing community.
Since its inception, Lamborghini Super Trofeo has hosted over 560 races globally, showcasing the Gallardo and Huracán models.
The new car will share the twin-turbo V8 engine and six-speed sequential gearbox with the forthcoming GT3 model, ensuring a seamless transition for drivers from Super Trofeo to GT3. Key features include an aluminum/carbon fiber reinforced plastic chassis, a fully integrated FIA roll cage, adjustable traction control, and anti-lock brakes.
Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s chief technical officer, remarked, “The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our ‘fun-to-drive’ philosophy. It is the ideal entry point for those eager to experience the world of GT competition.”
With its focus on performance and driver engagement, the Temerario Super Trofeo promises to elevate Lamborghini’s presence in the motorsports arena.
