Ericsson Brothers to Compete Together at Michelin 12H Malaysia
Marcus Ericsson, the 2022 Indianapolis 500 champion, and his brother Hampus will race together for the first time at the Michelin 12H Malaysia on December 6 at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit. They will pilot the No. 63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, entered by Leipert Motorsport, alongside fellow Swedish drivers Thomas Karlsson and Axel Bengtsson.
While Marcus Ericsson’s career has predominantly been in single-seaters, including IndyCar and Formula 1, he has previously participated in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and has experience in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. This event will mark his competitive debut in a GT3 car.
Hampus Ericsson, who recently triumphed in the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro Championship with co-driver Danny Formal, also claimed victory at the Super Trofeo World Final in Misano. His experience is complemented by Karlsson, who has over 100 races in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, and Bengtsson, who competed in the ADAC GT4 Germany series this season.
The 12H Malaysia is the opening race of the 24H Series Middle East Trophy, which also includes the 6H Abu Dhabi on January 10 and the prestigious 24H Dubai on January 17-18.
