Land-Motorsport Ends Decade-Long Partnership with Audi Sport
In a significant shift within the motorsports landscape, Land-Motorsport has announced the termination of its partnership with Audi Sport after a successful ten-year collaboration. The German team, which represented Audi starting in 2016, achieved notable accomplishments, including capturing the ADAC GT Masters drivers’, teams’, and juniors’ titles in their debut season with the R8 LMS GT3.
The pinnacle of their partnership was the 2017 24 Hours of Nürburgring victory, where drivers Connor De Phillippi, Christopher Mies, Kelvin van der Linde, and Markus Winkelhock showcased resilience. Despite an electrical issue in the closing stages, a strategic call on wet tires permitted them to reclaim the lead and secure their place in history.
Land-Motorsport continued to excel in endurance racing, clinching significant wins at Petit Le Mans in 2017 and the California 8 Hours in 2018, followed by another set of ADAC GT Masters titles in 2021. Their foray into the DTM in 2025 saw a slow start transform into competitive results, including a victory at the Red Bull Ring.
As Audi Sport prepares to conclude its customer racing operations, Land-Motorsport joins other teams moving away from the R8 LMS GT3 platform. “For ten whole years, everything revolved around the four rings—with significant success,” the team stated. “This partnership is no exception, and we are grateful for a remarkable journey with Audi.”
Land-Motorsport has yet to disclose its plans for the 2026 season, leaving the industry anticipating their next move amidst these changes.
