Genesis Unveils Magma GT Concept, Targets GT Racing Future
Le Castellet, France — At the Genesis Magma World Premiere, the automaker introduced its mid-rear-engined Magma GT Concept, marking a significant step in its long-term strategy to enter the GT racing class. This concept vehicle not only showcases Genesis’s vision for a high-performance halo car but also lays the groundwork for an imminent GT3 racing program.
Following the announcement, Genesis continues to build on its motorsport ambitions, previously highlighted by the GMR-001 Hypercar, slated for competition in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship. Furthermore, Hyundai, Genesis’s parent company, has enjoyed success with its TCR touring cars, including the acclaimed Elantra N TCR, which have amassed multiple championships globally.
Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, emphasized the brand’s commitment to performance: “The Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of our performance vision and stands as a symbol of our commitment to true motorsport capability. It is defined by balance and is instinctively connected to its driver.”
Donckerwolke further elaborated on the vehicle’s design philosophy, stating, “The Magma GT doesn’t ask the driver to prove their skill; it enhances it. This is not simply a faster Genesis; it is the most complete expression of Genesis performance to date.”
As Genesis forges ahead in the competitive landscape of motorsports, the Magma GT Concept stands as a testament to its dedication to innovation and performance excellence.
