IndyCar Series 2026 Line-Up Developments
As December approaches, efforts to finalize the IndyCar Series grid for 2026 are progressing. Ten of the eleven teams confirmed their return, with PREMA Racing still seeking funding to maintain its two-car entry featuring Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman.
Recent developments include AJ Foyt Racing officially signing Caio Collet to join Santino Ferrucci. The team anticipates continuing its technical alliance with Team Penske, pending confirmation.
Dale Coyne Racing remains the top contender for unclaimed driver spots, aiming to finalize the No. 18 Honda driver by December 15, with potential candidates including Romain Grosjean, Conor Daly, and Linus Lundqvist. This entry will partner with reigning Indy NXT champion Dennis Hauger.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is also in a state of flux, with ex-Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher likely to step into the No. 30 Honda following his departure from the Alpine WEC Hypercar program. His potential recruitment would significantly bolster RLL’s driver lineup, which has seen recent expansion.
Meanwhile, speculation surrounds Juncos Hollinger Racing’s second entry, previously driven by Sting Ray Robb. Despite conflicting reports about Robb’s status, his manager, Pieter Rossi, asserts that Robb will return for the upcoming season. Official announcements are necessary to clarify the situation, as the team’s new website currently lists the second seat as TBA.
These developments highlight ongoing adjustments within the IndyCar team dynamics as the 2026 season approaches, with further announcements expected shortly.
