BMW Unveils Exclusive M3 Touring for 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours
BMW has officially introduced the one-off M3 Touring 24H, set to compete in the SPX class at this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours from May 14-17, 2026. Built on the technical platform of the award-winning M4 GT3 Evo, the M3 Touring variant features a body that extends 20 centimeters in length and rises 32 millimeters in height compared to the M4.
Equipped with Yokohama tires, the M3 Touring 24H marks a significant development for BMW, with factory drivers Jens Klingmann, Ugo de Wilde, Connor De Phillippi, and Neil Verhagen scheduled to drive. The vehicle is aimed at capitalizing on the notable strengths of its predecessor while adding unique aesthetic features; it will sport a livery that references the initial April Fool’s Day teaser that inspired its production.
In preparation for the 24-hour race, the M3 Touring will participate in three Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie events, starting with the NLS2 this weekend, and subsequently at the 24H Nürburgring qualifiers in April.
Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, stated, “A project like the BMW M3 Touring 24H has never existed at BMW M Motorsport before. I am thrilled – and I promise all fans a great show and look forward to an event of superlatives.”
Klingmann echoed this sentiment, noting, “The car may have started as an April Fool’s joke, but it has become an absolutely top-class and competitive race car. Our goal is to put on a great show for the spectators at the Nürburgring and to finish as far up front as possible.”
As excitement builds, the addition of the M3 Touring 24H adds a new dynamic to the upcoming racing season, reinforcing BMW’s commitment to innovation within motorsports.
