Highlighting the essential elements necessary for success and safety on the track, Keefer outlines a comprehensive bike build. His experience in racing has informed decisions that prioritize performance while minimizing the risk associated with supercross racing, known for its demanding technical requirements.
Key components of the build include:
- Engine Modifications: Headwork with custom valves and high-compression piston, paired with a Vortex ECU and electronic fuel pump for increased performance.
- Suspension: Customized Showa A-Kit fork and shock, valved specifically for the rider’s weight and style.
- Exhaust: A Ti-6 full muffler system to enhance power delivery.
- Tires: Dunlop’s MX34 and MX3S tires, tailored for optimal grip and handling on varying track conditions.
Additional modifications include:
- Custom gearing with a 52T rear and 13T front sprocket for improved acceleration.
- A Pro Launch Device set to 160mm to enhance start capabilities.
- A complete graphic kit and green plastic from DecalMX for team branding aesthetics.
Safety enhancements, such as frame tape and side cover tape, have been integrated to protect the bike and rider during high-stress situations. The build also incorporates a high-durability DID ERT3 gold chain and a Powerflow air filter system, ensuring peak engine efficiency.
