Silverstone 500 Qualifying Report
Silverstone, UK – The #77 Optimum Motorsport McLaren GT3 EVO, driven by Morgan Tillbrook and factory driver Marvin Kirchhöfer, claimed pole position for the Silverstone 500 with an impressive combined time of 2:55.388. Kirchhöfer set a new GT3 qualifying lap record, surpassing Sandy Mitchell’s previous record of 1:56.569 and topping the morning’s free practice session.
The #18 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, piloted by Kevin Tse and Maximilian Götz, secured the second spot with a combined time of 3:56.049. Giacomo Petrobelli, driving the #7 Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, led the first qualifying session and helped his team secure third place overall with a combined time of 3:56.053 alongside teammate Jonny Adam.
The #78 Barwell Lamborghini Huracan qualified fourth, clocking in at 3:57.324, followed closely by the #91 Paradine Competition BMW M4 GT3 Evo, the reigning 2023 champions, who finished fifth with a time of 3:57.71. The #67 Orange Racing by JMH McLaren secured sixth, while championship leaders 2 Seas Motorsport’s #42 Mercedes-AMG, despite carrying 30 kg of ballast, qualified seventh at 3:57.391.
GT4 Qualifying Results
In the GT4 category, the #84 Mahiki Racing Lotus Emira achieved pole with a combined lap time of 4:16.222, set by Josh Miller and Aiden Neate. Miller’s time of 2:07.981 broke Gordie Much’s previous GT4 qualifying record. The team is determined to capitalize on their pace after experiencing a disqualification in their last outing.
Reigning GT4 champion Jack Brown contributed to the #90 Optimum Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4’s second-place qualification with a combined time of 4:17.562. Century Motorsport qualified third with their BMW M4 GT4 Evo at 4:17.784, while Optimum’s #17 McLaren placed fourth with 4:17.955. The #69 Mahiki Racing Lotus rounded out the top five at 4:19.009.
