Miami Grand Prix Secures Long-Term Formula 1 Presence Through 2041
Miami, Florida – In a significant move to bolster its presence in the United States, Formula 1 has announced a 10-year contract extension for the Miami Grand Prix, securing its place in the racing calendar until at least 2041. This announcement was made by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and Tom Garfinkel, managing partner of the Miami Grand Prix, just before the first track action of the 2025 event.
Domenicali emphasized the strategic importance of the Miami Grand Prix in F1’s American growth strategy, stating, “This is a place where it’s crucial to be. Miami will be a fundamental pillar for our growth in this country, where we believe we can do a lot together.”
Since its inaugural race in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has quickly become a popular destination, attracting a diverse audience, including celebrities and sports figures, enhancing F1’s visibility in the U.S. The venue is viewed as a modern counterpart to the traditional Circuit of the Americas, reinforcing F1’s commitment to expanding its cultural footprint in America.
Domenicali further articulated the broader strategy of integrating multiple U.S. events, including the recently added Las Vegas Grand Prix, to ensure sustainability in the market. He noted, “Every single place we are, here in the U.S., serves different customer clusters. This will push the other elements, stabilizing our presence for better.”
This long-term hosting agreement signifies a crucial step for F1 as it navigates post-pandemic recovery and aims to cultivate deeper market engagement. Domenicali remarked, “Miami was absolutely fundamental to the next step we did after the pandemic, showing that this specific customer base is key to our U.S. strategy.”
By solidifying its American race calendar, F1 aims to harness and grow its audience in one of the world’s largest markets, positioning itself to thrive amidst evolving viewer preferences.
