Verstappen Dominates Qualifying at Miami GP, Secures Pole Position
MIAMI, FL — Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Miami Grand Prix, edging out Lando Norris by a mere 0.065 seconds. This marks Verstappen’s third pole of the season, demonstrating his consistent dominance despite a minor slip in the opening corner.
Verstappen’s performance was characterized by an impressive first sector, where he managed to recover from a slight wobble. Meanwhile, Norris, who also showed strong pace, fell just short after misjudging the kerbs at Turn 17, inhibiting his final lap time.
"I was hoping Max would be slowed down by becoming a dad, but he did a Max lap," Norris remarked, recognizing Verstappen’s prowess. Despite the near miss, Norris expressed satisfaction with his own performance, stating, "I’m happy with the progress I’ve made with the car."
Norris, who previously clinched victory in Saturday’s sprint race, is optimistic about his chances during the main event. "I’m ready to see what we can do into Turn 1 tomorrow," he stated, emphasizing his readiness for any weather conditions that may arise.
Both drivers are set to face off in the main race, where strategy and starting positions will play a crucial role in the fight for the podium.
