Triumph Factory Racing Unveils Strong Roster for AMA Pro Motocross Championship Opener
The Triumph Factory Racing team is poised to make a competitive debut this weekend in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, set to kick off at Fox Raceway in Southern California on May 24. The team has assembled a formidable lineup featuring Jordon Smith, Austin Forkner, Stilez Robertson, and newcomer Mikkel Haarup. Jalek Swoll remains sidelined due to an Achilles injury and is expected to return for the High Point or Southwick Nationals.
Jordon Smith aims to build on his previous season, where he finished ninth in the 250MX championship, driven by a desire to secure his first overall podium. “Capturing that first trophy is a priority as round one approaches,” Smith emphasized.
Austin Forkner, returning after a hiatus from the Pro Motocross series since 2023, has historically excelled, securing a top-10 finish in 71% of his starts and previously earning a victory in the 250MX class. He expressed confidence that his recent Supercross experience will be pivotal in his quest for podium placements.
Stilez Robertson is returning from a wrist injury, hoping to leverage his past performance, which includes a podium finish just six races ago. He is focused on reacclimating to the demanding conditions of motocross.
Danish rider Mikkel Haarup, transitioning to the U.S. circuit, brings valuable experience from the FIM MX2 World Championship, where he secured seven podium finishes. He will race under number 107 and aims to continue his pursuit of success aboard the TF 250-X.
The opening round marks the beginning of a series of three West Coast events before the championship heads east, featuring 11 rounds and 22 races in total, ultimately leading to the SMX World Championship playoffs. The race weekend kicks off at 1:00 p.m. PST, with Triumph seeking to replicate its success from the previous year, where it placed in the top five for the first time in the 250 Class.
