Hamilton Addresses Rumors of Engineer Rift Ahead of Spanish GP
Lewis Hamilton has publicly dismissed speculation regarding a strained relationship with Ferrari race engineer Riccardo Adami, asserting their partnership remains strong as they prepare for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Controversy arose from radio exchanges during the Monaco Grand Prix, which suggested communication issues and prompted commentators to question the compatibility of the seven-time world champion with his new engineer. Notably, Hamilton’s on-track query about whether Adami was "upset" went unanswered, igniting further speculation.
However, Hamilton clarified the situation, stating, "Our relationship is great. No problems. We’re constantly learning more about each other." He emphasized the normalcy of disagreements in the driver-engineer dynamic: “We don’t always get it right every weekend… but we work through them.”
Adami, who has experience with multiple drivers including Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz, is adapting to Hamilton’s working style. Hamilton underscored their shared goal: “We both want to win a championship together. […] It’s just all noise, and we don’t really pay any attention to it.”
Moreover, Hamilton attributed some radio difficulties during the Monaco race to technical issues that limited the flow of information. He indicated that these matters were discussed and resolved post-race, reinforcing their commitment to improvement.
As they head into the Spanish GP, both Hamilton and Adami are focused on refining their collaboration and aiming for success on the track.
