Brad Pitt’s F1 Movie Promotion Sparks Laughter in the Paddock

In a recent episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Brad Pitt shared a humorous anecdote from the set of his upcoming F1-themed film. During filming at the 2023 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Pitt presented Shepard with a black and gold APX GP polo shirt, the crew’s attire from day one. As he recalled, the shirt bore the phrase “The Action Factory” on the back, which drew laughter from rival teams, particularly Mercedes and Ferrari.

“They put it on as a tramp stamp,” Pitt explained, noting the lighthearted ribbing they received as a result. "We started getting so much s**t from other crews… they had to switch out all the shirts and change them."

The film features Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former driver brought in to salvage the struggling APX GP team, alongside Damson Idris and Javier Bardem. With the global release set for this week, Pitt also reflected on his evolving interest in motorsports, stating he began watching F1 due to a lack of MotoGP events and has since explored IndyCar and NASCAR.

The light-hearted banter and the film’s unique approach to F1 culture highlight the growing intersection between motorsports and mainstream entertainment.
