Horner Dismisses Ferrari Speculation Amid Strong Commitment to Red Bull
Barcelona, Spain — Red Bull Racing’s team principal, Christian Horner, has firmly rejected ongoing speculation regarding a potential move to Ferrari, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to Red Bull through 2030. Rumors have circulated that Ferrari chairman John Elkann, known for his admiration of Horner, has sought to recruit him on multiple occasions.
In a press interaction at the Spanish Grand Prix, Horner stated, “It’s always flattering to be associated with other teams, but my commitment 100% is with Red Bull. It always has been and certainly will be for the long term.” He further added, “There’s a bunch of speculation, as always in this business… My Italian is worse than Flavio [Briatore’s] English. So, how on earth would that work?”
Horner has overseen Red Bull’s rise since its inception in 2005, leading the team to dominant championship performances with drivers Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. His recent contract extension reinforces his focus on continuing this legacy.
Ferrari recently appointed Fred Vasseur as team principal and is currently placed fourth in the Constructors’ Championship. Vasseur’s strategy reportedly includes the recruitment of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton alongside Charles Leclerc as the team aims to return to the forefront of Formula 1 under new technical regulations set to be implemented in 2026.
As the F1 landscape evolves, Horner’s commitment seems resolute, leaving Ferrari to navigate its challenges under Vasseur’s leadership.
