Aston Martin Partners with CoreWeave to Enhance F1 Performance through AI Technology

Aston Martin has entered a strategic partnership with AI specialist CoreWeave to modernize its Formula 1 operations, moving key infrastructure to a cloud-based system. This collaboration aims to accelerate car design and drive performance improvements through advanced AI engineering.

Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman of Aston Martin, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "In the fast-paced world of Formula 1, AI cloud computing provides a decisive edge." He emphasized the potential for unlocked performance levels owing to CoreWeave’s state-of-the-art platform.

As part of this agreement, CoreWeave will serve as Aston’s official AI Cloud Computing Partner. The team’s new wind tunnel, operational since March, will be rebranded as the CoreWeave Wind Tunnel. Additionally, CoreWeave branding will feature on the cars of drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll starting from the Monaco Grand Prix.

Brian Venturo, founder and chief strategy officer at CoreWeave, highlighted the importance of the partnership, saying, "Formula 1 is a proving ground for talent and technology. Our AI cloud platform will help accelerate Aston Martin Aramco’s pursuit of excellence.”

The partnership comes amid challenges for Aston Martin in the current season. The team showed potential at the recent Imola Grand Prix, with Alonso and Stroll qualifying fifth and eighth, respectively, though both finished outside the points in the race. Looking ahead, the new wind tunnel will be pivotal for the team’s 2026 preparations, spearheaded by design expert Adrian Newey, who recently transitioned from Red Bull.

This collaboration marks a crucial step for Aston Martin as the team seeks to enhance its competitive edge in the ever-evolving landscape of Formula 1.
