Grand Prix Trust Welcomes New Trustees with Strong Industry Backgrounds

The Grand Prix Trust has announced the appointment of Bernie Collins and Andy Stevenson as new trustees, enhancing its leadership with significant expertise from the Formula 1 sector. Founded in 1987 by three-time World Champion Jackie Stewart, the Trust supports individuals within the F1 community who are experiencing hardships.

Collins, a prominent pundit and former head of strategy at Aston Martin, and Stevenson, the team’s sporting director with a tenure that dates back to its 1991 debut under Jordan, bring a wealth of experience to the organization. They join a board led by former F1 driver and commentator Martin Brundle, alongside notable figures such as ex-Williams technical chief Patrick Head and Sauber team principal Jonathan Wheatley.

Brundle expressed enthusiasm about the appointments, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Bernie Collins and Andy Stevenson as additional trustees for the Grand Prix Trust. They are highly regarded F1 industry professionals who respect the history and integrity of the sport.”

Collins expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing her commitment to contributing positively to the Trust’s mission. “I look forward to being part of the great work that the Grand Prix Trust undertakes,” she remarked.

Stevenson echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the Trust’s critical role in supporting those who have dedicated their careers to motorsport. “It’s a privilege to be part of an organization that reflects values of care and long-term commitment within the sport,” he noted.

In addition to assisting individuals who have worked in F1 for at least two years, the Trust administers a bursary fund aimed at helping underprivileged students pursue careers in motorsport, furthering its commitment to community support and development.
