Crawford Clinches Silverstone Victory, Elevating F2 Title Challenge
Jak Crawford’s compelling performance in the Formula 2 feature race at Silverstone has not only secured him his third win of the season but also bolstered his standing in the championship. The American, a development driver for Aston Martin, demonstrated his potential under challenging wet conditions, finishing ahead of McLaren’s Alex Dunne and fellow competitor Luke Browning.
Crawford’s victory catapults him to second place in the F2 standings, now just six points shy of leader Richard Verschoor. "It was amazing timing, right when I needed to make a push for the championship," Crawford remarked. The win comes at a crucial moment, considering it effectively set the stage for what he termed a “big weekend” as he and Dunne started closely tied on points.
The 19-year-old emphasized the significance of handling adversity and showcasing his capabilities to both Aston Martin and the incoming Cadillac team, which is still finalizing its driver lineup for 2026. "I was able to execute and get the win. What a day for the championship," he added, noting the importance of this race for his season.
In addition to his F2 commitments, Crawford is serving as a reserve driver for Andretti in Formula E, having participated in the Berlin rookie test. His multifaceted involvement across racing disciplines continues to enhance his profile as a promising talent in the motorsports landscape.
