Esteban Ocon Acquires Rare Toyota GR Yaris ‘Seb Ogier’ Edition

Haas Formula 1 driver Esteban Ocon has added a unique piece to his collection with the purchase of the limited-edition Toyota GR Yaris ‘Seb Ogier’ Edition, of which only 200 units have been produced globally. This special model features a potent 1.6-liter turbocharged engine delivering around 280 horsepower, designed with elements inspired by rally racing.

In a detailed YouTube video, Ocon expressed his enthusiasm for the car: “It’s a very special car—only 200 units—and it’s a car I wanted for a very long time. The Toyota Yaris GR is a very special car born from World Rally, built with the purpose of homologation into the FIA.”

Among its notable features is a sophisticated intercooler spray system. Ocon noted, “The intercooler is massive. You can cool with water spray on the rad… When it’s warm, you normally lose power with turbo cars, but this one can regain power quickly, which is quite insane.”

The vehicle pays homage to eight-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier, adding allure to its ownership. “Seb is a legend. It’s very special to have one of the cars that he developed,” Ocon stated, further highlighting the significance of receiving signed gloves and a component from an actual Yaris WRC car as part of the package.

This new addition complements Ocon’s diverse collection, which includes his 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix-winning Alpine A521, a Ferrari 296 GTB, and a 2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 3ZR. Additionally, Ocon has imported a 1998 BMW Z3M from Japan, which he is restoring with his father.

Ocon’s latest acquisition not only showcases his passion for motorsport but also reflects a strong connection to the competitive spirit and heritage stemming from the world of rally racing.
