British GP Practice Results: Hamilton Dominates FP1
Silverstone, UK — Lewis Hamilton underscored his prowess at Silverstone by setting the fastest lap during the first practice session of the British Grand Prix. The nine-time winnerclocked a time of 1:26.892, reinforcing his resume as a home favorite despite a challenging season with Ferrari.
Following Hamilton was Lando Norris, who claimed second place, narrowly outpacing McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc finished fourth, hinting at a resurgence in Ferrari’s performance.
George Russell, who had earlier led the session, settled into fifth place. Meanwhile, the Haas of Oliver Bearman, another home driver, finished in 18th position.
Reigning champion Max Verstappen struggled, recording only the 10th best time, while rookie Arvid Lindblad, making his F1 debut, finished slightly over half a second behind his teammate.
The session was not without drama, as Pierre Gasly and Gabriel Bortoleto experienced spins without significant damage. Nico Hulkenberg sat out FP1, replaced by alpine reserve Paul Aron, who finished in 17th place.
