Miami Grand Prix Preview: Sauber Unveils New Livery as Team Readies for Sprint Weekend
Sauber, set to transition to Audi, has introduced a one-off livery for the Miami Grand Prix weekend, prominently featuring a fluorescent green and black paint splash design. Drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will pilot the reworked car at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Despite fan anticipation for a more dramatic redesign, reactions have been mixed. Some critics noted the new look closely resembles the standard livery, with one comment humorously stating, "So it’s the exact same but a bit more messy?" Conversely, a segment of fans expressed enthusiasm, suggesting the team should continue with this scheme for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Ahead of the race, Hulkenberg addressed the unique atmosphere at the Miami circuit, emphasizing its rhythm and the challenges of the sprint format. "There is a special atmosphere around this unique venue all weekend long, which makes it even more exciting," he remarked. He noted that getting the car aligned quickly is crucial due to the sprint weekend’s compressed schedule.
Bortoleto, in his second sprint weekend and first experience at the International Autodrome, spoke of his preparation. "I feel well prepared and focused on making the most of it," he stated, highlighting the insights gained from simulator time after recent events.
As the Miami Grand Prix approaches, the focus remains on Sauber’s tactical performance and the implications of their striking new look.
