Ferrari Honors Niki Lauda with Special Livery at Italian Grand Prix
Ferrari will debut a commemorative livery at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s first World Championship title with the team.
Lauda secured the 1975 Drivers’ Championship driving the iconic Ferrari 312 T, achieving five wins and nine pole positions over the season. His title was clinched with a third-place finish at Monza on September 7, 1975, while teammate Clay Regazzoni took victory, delighting the passionate tifosi present at the track.
In tribute, Ferrari’s modified livery will feature elements reminiscent of the 312 T, including a white engine cover, metallic silver rear wing, vintage-style numbers, and classic wheel covers. Additionally, the team’s race suits and kit have been designed to reflect the aesthetics of the 1975 season.
Team principal Fred Vasseur emphasized the importance of maintaining focus amid the emotional atmosphere of Monza. “We are eagerly looking forward to hitting the track… despite Zandvoort’s results, we showed race pace,” Vasseur stated. He underlined the necessity for a disciplined approach: “We must put emotions aside and focus on executing the weekend to the best of our ability from free practice to the final lap of the race.”
Vasseur acknowledged the progress made this season but recognized the need for flawless execution in a highly competitive field. “We’ll give it everything we have, knowing we can count on the love and support of our tifosi,” he concluded.
