Miami GP: Hamilton Faces Challenges While Celebrating Beckham’s Milestone

Miami, Florida – At the Miami Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton found himself navigating questions about friend David Beckham’s 50th birthday, reflecting on the English icon’s successful post-football career. Despite their camaraderie, Hamilton’s own journey in Formula 1 is proving more turbulent this season.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has struggled since his transition to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Aside from a surprising sprint race victory in Shanghai, his performance has been underwhelming, with criticism emerging from quarters like Ralf Schumacher, who has suggested retirement could be an option for Hamilton.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Hamilton emphasized his commitment to improving with Ferrari, stating, “I’m focused on getting my form back.” Even with the upcoming Met Gala, where he will co-chair, he reiterated that his racing performance is his priority.

Recently, Hamilton expressed his enjoyment of spending time in Maranello, admitting, “I love it,” despite the challenges of balancing indulgence—confessing to consuming three pizzas in two days while there. He is keen to overcome performance obstacles, asserting that the team has been “massively supportive” during this adjustment phase.

Hamilton’s continued dedication to both his racing career and external ventures, such as fashion collaborations with Anna Wintour, indicates that while he faces difficulties on track, he remains engaged with broader interests. His next opportunity to rectify his form will come in the ongoing season, as he looks to reclaim his status among the sport’s elite.
