Leclerc Hails Ferrari’s Performance Gains at Belgian Grand Prix

Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – Charles Leclerc secured a podium finish at the Belgian Grand Prix, a result buoyed by Ferrari’s recent upgrade featuring a new rear suspension designed to enhance ride height flexibility and floor performance.

The upgrade, introduced with limited practice time, demonstrated its potential as Leclerc successfully fended off pressures from Max Verstappen to clinch third place. Post-race, he expressed optimism regarding the improvements, stating, “We’ve had what we expected with this upgrade, and that’s really positive… It definitely helped us to get the podium.”

Leclerc acknowledged the efforts of the Ferrari team in Maranello, emphasizing the need for continued development to increase competitiveness against McLaren. “This is not enough; we need to keep pushing to be closer to McLaren,” he remarked.

During the race, Leclerc initially faced significant pressure from Verstappen. However, he managed to pull away before a late surge from the Red Bull. Reflecting on the challenging conditions, he noted, “It was a tricky first part of the race… Once we went on the slicks, things came a bit more toward me.”

Despite the difficult weather, Leclerc’s strategic choice to adopt lower downforce relative to his rivals proved advantageous, allowing him to secure P3 and provide a morale boost for the Ferrari team heading into future races.
