Tyler Epp Joins Cadillac’s Formula 1 Team as Global Head of Commercial Strategy

Cadillac has appointed Tyler Epp as the global head of commercial strategy for its new Formula 1 team, taking the role after his tenure as president of the Miami Grand Prix. Epp, who played a crucial role in establishing the Miami race as a key event on the F1 calendar since its inception in 2022, is set to transition into his new position as preparations ramp up for Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1 in 2026.

Epp’s track record includes a successful partnership with Tom Garfinkel at the Miami Grand Prix, overseeing business operations that led to a contract extension for the event until 2041. His experience also includes roles with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, further emphasizing his extensive background in high-profile sports management.

In a statement, Epp expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “I can’t think of a more exciting and promising opportunity to galvanize our sport in the United States and beyond than this one.” He emphasized Cadillac’s potential to assert itself as a global force in F1, combining American tradition and ingenuity.

Cadillac F1 Team CEO Dan Towriss praised Epp’s leadership and vision, noting, “We could not have found a better leader to build out the commercial arm of our team.” He highlighted Epp’s successful transformation of the Miami Grand Prix into a marquee event as indicative of his capabilities.

Graeme Lowdon, team principal of Cadillac’s F1 operations, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the challenges of building a new team from the ground up and underscoring Epp’s operational expertise as vital to the organization’s ambitious plans.

With Epp’s appointment, Cadillac aims to leverage his proven experience across various motorsport disciplines, including NASCAR and IndyCar, as it prepares to make its mark on the F1 grid.
